CONFIRMED: Rather Out at 60M; End of CBS Carrer Near for Legendary Anchor/Reporter

The Washington Post is reporting Dan Rather is indeed out at 60 Minutes, effectively ending the 44-year career of the legendary journalist at CBS. Sources close to CBS Executives say that both parties are working on a "dignified exit" for the former anchor of the CBS Evening News.

Rather, whose contract expires at the end of the year, could be gone well before that. What remains to be seen is if any cable news channel will express interest in the greying newsman. The full story can be accessed at the link above.
