- Randy Gupton is as varied an individual as they come. A former News Anchor and Reporter for Raleigh, North Carolina's 680-WPTF, he has covered the movers and shakers of North Carolina's Capital, the region, nation and world. In a late 2001 promotion dubbed 'The People of WPTF News,' he summed up his love of journalism and broadcating: "I like news because of the intensity. I like news because of the drive. When news breaks, when a story breaks, we have an opportunity to tell people -- right then and there -- about it. That drives and motivates me everyday. And I can't wait to tell people about it." After a year in the WPTF Newsroom, Gupton accepted a new challenge as the Human Resources Director for Curtis Media Group, WPTF's parent company.
